Michelle L. Bey was born January 30, 1953 to the union of the late Willie and Alcenia (Thomas) Nunn in Cleveland, Ohio.
She grew up on the eastside of Cleveland where she attended Oliver Wendell Holmes elementary school as one of the students of the beloved Ms. Boyd. On the road to high school she attended Patrick Henry and FDR junior high. She graduated high school as a Glenville Tarblooder in the class of "71". After graduating high school, she attended Cuyahoga Community College where she met her husband of over forty years.
She began her administrative career at the Metro Campus of Cuyahoga Community College before joining the staff at Case Western Reserve University. After taking a break from the workforce to raise her children, she returned to Tri-C as a staff member of the District office. She later joined the Department of Genetics at Case Western Reserve University before taking a position in the Center for Human Genetics at University Hospitals. She ended her career as a dedicated staff member in the Department of Exceptional Children at Shaker Heights Schools, and was a proud member of the OAPSE Local 149.
Michelle is survived by her husband, Mickey Bey Sr.; sister, Carol Nunn; brother, Neal Nunn; sister-in-law, Lisa Nunn; children, Malana Bey, Mickey Bey, Cortez Bey, and Delphia Bey; grandchild, Gyasi Bey; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Willie Nunn; mother, Alcenia Grose; sister, Beverly Nunn Smith; and stepfather, Rev. Joe Grose.
